IIT Kanpur Convocation: Chief Guest Profile

Sanjay Malhotra, the current Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 1989. Mr. Malhotra began his career as a bureaucrat in 2000 and has held significant positions in Rajasthan and at the national level, including international experience with UNIDO. He served as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power and was Chairman and Managing Director of REC. In December 2024, he was appointed RBI Governor.
